Entry Limits

The Regatta Committee reserves the right to limit entries to particular events or the regatta as a whole.

Double Entries

Double Entries will be accepted where possible. The committee cannot guarantee rest times – crews are responsible for ensuring they are at the start at the stated time. As a general rule the racing timetable only supports a doubled crew and/or boat having 6 races per day. With this in mind the committee recommends that doubling be confined as follows:

Open & Women
Any two events in Elite, Championship, Senior 1 and Senior 2 only one of these events should be a long course event (held in the morning)
Novice/Senior 3 & 4
There is usually no scope for Novice, Senior 3 & Senior 4 crews to double enter
Juniors
One am (8.30 – 12.30 approx) and one pm (13.30 – 18.00 approx)

These double entry guidelines also apply to coxswains and equipment.

Clubs must submit a SUMMARY FORM showing double entries of crews, coxes and boats. In addition please provide a mobile phone number where a senior club official can be contacted over the regatta weekend if the need arises.

Junior Events

A minimum of 3 entries from two different clubs are required for an event to be held. If insufficient entries are received, the entries will be placed in the next age group for the class of boat unless an alternative is clearly stated. The Entries Secretary will endeavour to contact Club Secretaries and Teachers i/c of Rowing to resolve any difficulties – please provide quick phone/fax numbers.

Change of Status

Clubs should be aware that the draw takes place on June 8th. Crews who change status on Sat. 7th and inform the Entries Secretary before 8.00pm on Saturday 7th will be entered in the next highest status event.

Novice & Senior 4 winners

Novice & Senior 4 winners (of qualifying events – 4 to race) in men's & women's 8+, 4+ and 1x on the first day of Durham Regatta are automatically entered in Senior 3 on the 2nd day.

EQUIPMENT SHARING No allowance can be made in the Timetable for the sharing of Boats and Oars. Each crew and sculler is responsible for being at the start at the publicised time. Races will be started without reference to absentees.

COXES: Will be weighed each day before their first race and should provide appropriate dead weight if necessary.

SAFETY: The ARA Water Safety Code will be strictly enforced. Clubs should ensure all crews are familiar with the code.

DRAW: Will take place at 15 Glebeside, Witton Gilbert at 10.00am on Sunday June 7th.

PRIZE GIVING: will take place at Caedmon Hall, College of St. Hild & St. Bede on Sunday 15th June commencing 8.00pm.
