Entry Limits

The Regatta Committee reserves the right to limit entries to particular events or the regatta as a whole. Where possible priority will be given to a crew/competitors first entry and then second (double) entries will be accepted as space allows.

Double Entries

Will be accepted only as allowed below. The regatta is often over-subscribed and these rules exist to limit entries and to minimise the risk of entries being rejected arbitrarily due to excessive numbers. Wherever possible we will accommodate reasonable boat and cox sharing requests.

Open & Women's Open
Any two events in Elite, Championship, Senior and Intermediate 2 only one of these events should be a long course event (held in the morning).
Novice/Intermediate 3
There is no scope for Novice & Intermediate 3 crews to double enter.
Junior 13, 14 & 15
There is no scope for crew double entering in these age groups.
Junior 16 & 18
Any two of AM (8.30 – 12.30 approx), PM (13.30 – 18.00 approx) & Open/Women's Senior.

An individual competitor/crew can only be entered in events in one Category as defined above per day.

Clubs must submit a SUMMARY FORM showing double entries of crews, coxes and boats. In addition please provide a mobile phone number where a senior club official can be contacted over the regatta weekend if the need arises.

Masters Handicap Events

Will be organised in accordance with the guidance provided in the 2010 Masters Handicap Events Operating Notes.

Junior Events

A minimum of three entries from two different clubs are required for an event to be held. If insufficient entries are received, the entries will be placed in the next age group for the class of boat unless an alternative is clearly stated. The Entries Secretary will endeavour to contact Club Secretaries and Teachers i/c of Rowing to resolve any difficulties – please ensure that OARA contact/phone number records are correct.

Change of Status

Clubs should be aware that the draw takes place on June 6th. Crews who change status on Sat. 5th should inform the Entries Secretary before 8.00pm on Saturday 5th and will be entered in the next highest status event.

Novice winners

In men's & women's 8+ and 4+ on the first day of Durham Regatta are automatically entered in Intermediate 3 on the 2nd day.

Cancellation Policy

In the unlikely event of cancellation or suspension of the regatta entry fees will not be refunded.

COXES: Will be weighed each day before their first race and should provide appropriate dead weight if necessary.

SAFETY: The British Rowing Row Safe Code will be strictly enforced. Clubs should ensure all crews are familiar with the code.
