The Regatta is held on the River Wear and its riverbanks in historic Durham City.  Stunning views of the City,  the Castle and of course the Cathedral provide a constant backdrop for spectators, visitors and competitors.   Racing takes place throughout both days of the Regatta,  provisionally scheduled for Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th June 2014,  as supporters cheer on their favourite crews.

A wide variety of stalls, catering for all sorts of tastes in food and refreshment, entertainment ranging from music from local brass bands to the Classic Car rally mean that in addition to watching the best of rowing in the North-East there is always plenty for spectators to do.

Innovations for the 2013 Corepeople Durham Regatta included the introduction of Rowability adaptive rowing races – inspired by the 2012 London Paralympics and the CAMRA Beer Festival held on the Friday evening preceding the Regatta and at the close of the first day of the regatta on  Saturday

A very modest charges for entry to the Racecourse is made for each day of the Regatta and children under 5 are admitted free.
