The Regatta is held on the River Wear and its riverbanks in historic Durham City. Stunning views of the City, the Castle and of course the Cathedral provide a constant backdrop for spectators, visitors and competitors. Racing takes place throughout both days of the Regatta, Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th June, as supporters cheer on their favourite crews.
A wide variety of stalls, catering for all sorts of tastes in food and refreshment, entertainment ranging from music from local brass bands to the Classic Car rally mean that in addition to watching the best of rowing in the North-East there is always plenty for spectators to do.
This year’ s innovations for the Corepeople Durham Regatta include the introduction of Rowability races – inspired by the 2012 London Paralympics and the CAMRA Beer Festival to be held from 5pm to 11pm on the evening preceding the Regatta Friday 7th June and at the close of the first day of the regatta on Saturday 8th June
Entry to the Racecourse for each day of the Regatta costs £3 for adults and £1.50 for concessions. Children under 5 are admitted free.
